Daily Game Drives
Game Drives depart twice daily. Choose between an early morning gamedrive or a sunset gamedrive. The departures are perfectly timed when temperatures are cooler and animals are more active. A qualified and experienced guide will share amazing facts and stories about the African wilderness while you experience breathtaking encounters with wildlife.
Guided Bush Walks
Join us for an early morning walk in the bush. The walks endure between 2.5 to 3 hours and are led by with one of our qualified and experienced armed trails guides who will share amazing facts and stories about the African wilderness while you experience breathtaking encounters with wildlife.
Overnight Trips
Transfer, Activities and Accommodation
We will send our professional shuttle to your hotel for pickup at 1PM, head to the Dinokeng Game Reserve where a Safari vehicle will be waiting for you. Once you arrive, there will be a safety briefing and then the drive will start. Your Game drive will include a 2.5-3 Hour drive with one of our qualified and experienced game rangers. The ranger will share amazing facts and stories about the African wilderness. Included will be a water, soft drinks and snacks.
Once you are done with the drive, you will be transferred to your lodge where you can enjoy the evening around the fire with a glass of wine or beer. Your host will be preparing your meal, a basic South African Braai with salad and side dishes. You can choose a chalet with air-conditioning and on-suit bathroom or be more adventurous and choose a safari tent.
The morning will start with coffee and rusks while you wake up and a safari vehicle will then collect you from the lodge for your morning guided walk. Your Guided Bush Walk will include a 2.5-3 Hour walk with one of our qualified and experienced armed Trails Guides. The guide will share amazing facts and stories about the African wilderness and will share breath-taking encounters with wildlife. Included will be a bottle of water.
You will then be transferred back to lodge for breakfast and then check-out by 11:00. The shuttle will then return you to your hotel or airport. There is an optional afternoon game drive that will start 3 hours before sundown. Please enquire for additional cost and availability.
Day Trips
We will send our professional shuttle to your hotel for pickup 1.5 hours before sunrise, stop at a halfway stop for take-away coffee and snack, (at your cost) and drop you at Arlington Brewery in the Dinokeng Game Reserve. Once you arrive, there will be a safety briefing and then the walk will start, (2.5-3 hours). It is a very casual walk and an information session where your guide will show and tell you interesting facts about the African wilderness and Big 5. Afterwards you will be transferred to one of the lodges where you can enjoy the afternoon around the swimming pool, bar area and restaurant, (all drinks and food will be for your cost). A safari vehicle will then collect you for a afternoon game drive, (2.5-3 hours) where you will once again be entertained by an experienced game ranger. We will serve water, soft drinks and snacks on the game drive. At the end of the game drive, the shuttle will then return you to your hotel or airport.

Choose between a morning or afternoon half-day trip. Includes return shuttle from Jhb or Pta location, activity such as walk or drive and conservation fees.

About Dinokeng Game Reserve
The name of the Dinokeng Game Reserve (DGR) is derived from the languages of the baTswana and baPedi people who traditionally inhabited the area. Meaning “a place of rivers”, Dinokeng lies in the catchment area of two rivers that flow into the Olifants and Limpopo rivers and on to the Indian Ocean.
The DGR is situated on the north eastern quadrant of the Gauteng Province of South Africa between latitudes 25°40’00”S and 25°10’00”Sand longitudes 28°15’00”E and 28°40’00”E comprising currently 19 000 ha.
The DGR area experiences summer rainfall patterns in the form of thunder storms which can be variable and erratic. Rainfall varies from 350mm to 750mm per season. Temperatures vary between 0° and 40° with a long term daily average of 21°.
The Dinokeng Game Reserve is Malaria-free.
